Accounts Payable Specialist

About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Clerk to contribute to our dynamic purchase ledger team. As an integral part of the team, you will provide support to the Head of Accounts Payable, handle escalations, and ensure timely payment processing.
Main Responsibilities:
- Meticulously verify and review incoming invoices and credit notes for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Match and process high volumes of Stock invoices with purchase orders, Goods Receipts, and supporting documentation.
- Code and process Non-Stock (Opex) invoices into the accounting system accurately and efficiently. Send invoices to internal stakeholders for approval.
- Collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies promptly and professionally while maintaining positive relationships and adhering to supplier payment terms.
- Reconcile supplier statements monthly, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors to ensure accurate invoice payments.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records, including online filing of invoices, credit notes, and related documents for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing and reconciling accounts payable reports and statements.
- Work collaboratively with the Accounts Payable team and management to enhance processes and improve efficiency.
- Provide support with other accounting tasks and projects as assigned by management.
About You
The ideal candidate possesses strong Excel skills, as the role involves utilizing various formulas, pivot tables, and macros. Experience with report generation is highly desirable.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a multi-site organization.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage high volumes of paperwork.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Familiarity with MAM and MS Office would be beneficial, but not essential.
