Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our team at Amwell Surgery in Hertfordshire. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to our patients, working closely with our GPs and other healthcare professionals to deliver excellent patient care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, in line with current evidence-based guidelines.
- Treat and review patients, referring as necessary, and manage long-term conditions.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to prevent unplanned hospital admissions.
- Assist GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings, and provide nursing assistance to the Doctors and other members of the Primary Healthcare Team.
- Participate in maintaining Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required, and control and organisation of items sent to and returned from CSSD.
- Reconcile controlled drugs in line with current DOH guidelines, and undertake housekeeping duties, including general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms.
- Order stock to maintain safe stock levels and cash control, and participate in administrative systems in the Practice.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council)
- Independent prescriber
- Post Graduate Diploma or degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
- Experience in Primary care, Chronic disease Management, and working as a Practice Nurse or Community Nurse (desirable)
