About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our Zonal Response Team (ZRT) as a Highway Maintenance Operative. You will work from one of our depots in Doxey, Bescot, or Stafford Park, carrying out temporary defect repairs under the supervision of your dispatcher and site managers.
You will be responsible for ensuring works orders are completed on time and to the required quality standards. Your duties will also include applying safe working methods, following COSHH and HAVS regulations, and operating machinery as directed by your supervisor.
Main Responsibilities- Safely carry out temporary defect repairs
- Apply safe methods of working to all activities
- Understand and follow procedures relating to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
- Understand and follow procedures relating to Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome regulations (HAVS)
- Drive within the confines of The Road Traffic Act
- Operate machinery as required and directed by the Supervisor
- Install/Remove Traffic Management as required
We are seeking flexible and hardworking individuals with experience in highway maintenance environments and C1E driving experience. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
A valid UK Driving Licence (Essential) and HGV Class 2 Licence are required unless you come from a strong Traffic Management work background. DCPC, Traffic Management TTMBC is desirable.
Package DescriptionOur total compensation package includes:
- A salary between £11.44 and £14.37 per hour (dependent on experience and licences)
