Our refineries generate approximately 19 million tonnes of fuels per annum. We are seeking enthusiastic Plant Inspectors of all levels to join our dynamic team. These temporary positions are ideal for individuals looking to advance their career in engineering and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace. As an Inspection Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Executing inspections to achieve full compliance with legal requirements and site inspection standards within authorised limits.
- Defining the scope for and developing Written Schemes of Examination, emphasising degradation mechanisms, specifying services requirements to achieve full compliance with site inspection standards, legal requirements and business goals for asset integrity, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Developing inspection plans to match legal requirements, site standards, plant availabilities and business TAR programs.
- Performing physical inspections, planning and co-ordinating NDT and specialist support services, and producing and reviewing inspection reports to meet plans agreed with the asset teams.
- Highlighting repairs to restore `fit for purpose¿ condition and recommending inspection intervals to achieve legal compliance and business integrity goals.
- Providing inspection knowledge and guidance in equipment failure investigations to determine the root cause and extent of the failure to firstly rectify and ultimately increase asset integrity and availability.
- Providing Inspection Engineering input to major shutdown programs, assisting in workscope development, implementation and completions whilst also driving the NDT resources to ensure asset integrity and the delivery of the TAR schedule program.
Candidates will need to have an engineering background and demonstrable experience of inspecting as the `competent person¿ In addition, experience of design, fabrication, maintenance and operation of various mechanical equipment types is beneficial. They should also have good written and verbal communication skills, excellent eye for detail and an ability to follow procedures accurately. Qualifications:
- Ideal qualification to meet a minimum of UKAS RG-2 Category 3 Inspector.
- Candidates should hold an appropriate qualification in line with their UKAS RG-2 Category such as a suitable Degree or NVQ.
- Relevant experience in Inspection role.
- EEMUA 159 and/or Plant Inspector qualifications beneficial.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
- A working understanding of API/ASME/PSSR/EEMUA standards and guides as appropriate.
- Knowledge of refinery damage mechanisms.
- Knowledge in the application of RBI.
- Good understanding of NDT techniques including application and limitations.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- A natural drive and ability to make a difference.
