Job Title: Learning Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Worker to join our team at the Halow Project. As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with learning disabilities in our community-based learning program, Building Futures.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide highly person-centred 1:1 support to young adults, helping to promote life skills, independence, social skills, leisure opportunities, educational provision, and community access. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our learners receive the best possible support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to adults with learning disabilities, promoting their independence and social skills.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personalized learning plans, ensuring that our learners' needs are met.
  • Collaborate with our team to identify and address any safeguarding concerns, reporting them promptly to the relevant authorities.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting the well-being and dignity of our learners.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • A good level of fitness and stamina, due to the physical nature of the program and community working.
  • Suitable references and a willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check.
  • Aged 18 and above, with the right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

Professional or personal experience of learning disabilities, and experience within a health and social care and/or educational setting is desirable. However, we also value a values-based approach and are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities.
