About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Learning Partners Academy Trust. As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the needs of our pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and working closely with the class teacher to ensure their inclusion and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher in supporting children with SEN, in line with advice from statutory and specialist sources.
  • Support children with neurodiversity and prepare learning materials and set up equipment.
  • Use visuals to support learning and routines and contribute to discussions of pupils' needs and progress.
  • Ensure the learning environment is safe and support pupil activities and behavior.
  • Participate in relevant staff development activities and assist in meeting the children's needs for encouragement and reassurance.
  • Liaise with parents and follow safeguarding policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children with SEN.
  • A calm, friendly manner and the ability to build rapport with pupils.
  • Great verbal communication skills and flexibility to adapt to constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work well within a team and a commitment to equality and inclusion.
  • The ability to reflect on and develop their own practice with support from colleagues and the Learning Partner Trust CPD programme.
