Senior Offshore Technician

Join our team as a Senior Offshore Technician and take on a challenging role in the maintenance and operation of our floating offshore wind energy platforms. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the continued reliability and performance of our platforms, working closely with our engineering team, clients, and contractors to plan and execute installation, commissioning, and operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Routine Maintenance: Plan and execute IMR activities on WindFloat platforms and associated equipment, ensuring continued reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and address technical issues and faults in WindFloat systems, making on-the-spot repairs as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safety-first culture among the team.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Collect data on platform performance and maintenance activities, identifying trends and optimizing maintenance schedules.
  • Calibrations and Testing: Collect data on platform performance and maintenance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies, taking the lead in coordinating efforts and ensuring team safety.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to a team of offshore technicians, ensuring safe and efficient maintenance activities.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring necessary components are available for maintenance and repairs.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and repair activities adhere to environmental regulations, minimizing impact on marine ecosystems.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with onshore support teams, fellow technicians, and management regarding maintenance activities and issues.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and safety incidents.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians, enhancing their skills and safety awareness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and procedures, enhancing equipment reliability and overall efficiency.
Requirements
  • 5 years experience in offshore environments.
  • Hold a recognized apprenticeship/NVQ 3 in either Electrical or Mechatronics disciplines with strong technical expertise and experience.
  • Possess a Safety First mentality.
  • Strong attention to detail and execution excellence, good interpersonal and customer relation skills, as well as the ability to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting ability.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Basic computer operation skills, familiarity with internet-based program navigation, and ability to generate and interpret computer data.
  • Capable of leading by example, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring that team members/peers always adhere to safety standards.
  • Be a skilled communicator, providing clear instructions, sharing safety updates, and reporting issues.
  • Demonstrate the experience, wisdom, and skills to address unexpected issues in offshore environments, and to execute efficient downtime management.
  • Possess experience of emergency response, such as equipment failures or personnel injuries, taking the lead in coordinating efforts and ensuring the safety of the team.
  • Be driven by safety, regulatory compliance, risk management, efficiency, and continuous improvement, as well as environmental responsibility.
  • Have a desire to work in a hybrid onshore/offshore environment.
  • Be knowledgeable and experienced in multicultural and international environments.
  • Authorized to work in the UK.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, with applicable Technical English.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to any location where the company has active operations.
