Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Offshore Technician to join our team at Principle Power. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of our WindFloat platforms in Europe.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute maintenance activities on WindFloat platforms and associated equipment to ensure continued reliability and performance.
  • Support project teams in other locations as needed, including planning, refinement of procedures, and on-site operations.
  • Diagnose and address technical issues and faults in WindFloat systems, making on-the-spot repairs as necessary.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safety-first culture among the crew.
  • Collect and analyze data on platform performance and maintenance activities to identify trends and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Lead by example, enforcing safety protocols and ensuring that team members adhere to safety standards.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and tools to minimize downtime and ensure equipment and tools are compliant with inspection, certification, and calibration requirements.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities adhere to environmental regulations, including proper disposal of waste materials and minimizing the impact on marine ecosystems.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with onshore support teams, fellow technicians, and management regarding maintenance activities, equipment status, and any issues that may arise.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience in offshore environments.
  • Hold a recognized apprenticeship/NVQ 3 in either Electrical or Mechatronics disciplines with strong technical expertise and experience.
  • Possess a 'Safety First' mentality and excellent trouble-shooting ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and execution excellence, good interpersonal and customer relation skills, as well as the ability to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels.
  • Be a skilled communicator, providing clear instructions, sharing safety updates, and reporting issues.
  • Demonstrate experience, wisdom, and skills to address unexpected issues in offshore environments and execute efficient downtime management.
  • Possess experience of emergency response, such as equipment failures or personnel injuries, taking the lead in coordinating efforts and ensuring the safety of the team.
  • Be driven by safety, regulatory compliance, risk management, efficiency, and continuous improvement, as well as environmental responsibility.
  • Have a desire to work in a hybrid onshore/offshore environment and be knowledgeable and experienced in multicultural and international environments.
  • Authorized to work in the UK and fluent in spoken and written English, with additional competence in applicable Technical English.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to any location where the company has active operations.
