Role Overview

This Student and Family Support Worker role is a part-time position (19 hours per week) with an estimated salary range of £13 - £15 per hour. The successful candidate will be working under the guidance of the Deputy Headteacher for Student Welfare, supporting students and their families in Central Norwich.

Main Tasks:
  • Offer feedback on progress, achievement, behaviour, and attendance to pupils receiving learning and pastoral support.
  • Supervise pupils excluded from or not working to a normal timetable, ensuring they receive the necessary support.
  • Establish 1:1 mentoring arrangements to support pupils in distress, providing them with time out from their normal schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with the pastoral team, support agency representatives, pupils, and parents to address reintegration or behaviour issues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Manage a caseload under the supervision of the LSC Manager, promoting constructive communication between parents/carers and the school.
  • Familiarity with child protection, safeguarding, and confidentiality policies is essential.
  • While first aid training is desirable, it is not mandatory for this role.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
