Pharmacy Foundation Training Programme Lead
4 weeks ago
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the delivery of the pharmacy foundation training programme in the South West region. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the programme, ensuring high-quality training for trainee pharmacists.
Main Responsibilities
The post-holder will work closely with the Head of School and Regional Head of Pharmacy to oversee the delivery and quality management of foundation training for pharmacists within the region. This will involve collaborating with stakeholders, including universities, employers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure the programme meets the needs of the healthcare workforce.
About the Role
The NHS England board has set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all. This purpose will inform the detailed design work, and we will achieve this by:
- Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
- Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
- Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values, and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care.
- Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation.
- Delivering value for money.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. They must also possess excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload, and multitask a variety of demands on their time.
Person Specification
The post requires a registered pharmacist with a clear understanding and evidence of involvement in delivery and management of healthcare education and training. A higher educational qualification in education is desirable, as is previous or current appointment as a leader in healthcare education.
Working Arrangements
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person. Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
