Ipswich, Suffolk, United Kingdom East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust Full time
About the Role
East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Dietitian to join our team as a Clinical Nutrition Lead. This role requires someone with significant expertise in clinical dietetics, particularly in enteral and parenteral nutrition. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, evidence-based dietetic service to patients in the acute sector.

Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nutrition Lead, you will lead clinical teams and provide specialist input on patient care. Your duties will include leading ward rounds, contributing to multidisciplinary teams, and providing education and training to junior staff members. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing protocols and guidelines underpinned by a clinical governance framework. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other senior dietitians to manage a caseload of nutritionally vulnerable patients.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a degree or postgraduate diploma in dietetics, registration with the Health Professions Council, and membership of the British Dietetic Association. You should also have evidence of other post-registration education and training, as well as significant experience in speciality areas such as enteral and parenteral nutrition. As a supplementary prescriber, you will have the ability to prescribe medications and develop treatment plans for patients. A strong portfolio of continuing professional development (CPD) is essential for this role. We are seeking someone who is passionate about patient care, enjoys working within a team, and has excellent communication skills. Our ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality improvement, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Experience in critical care units, enterally fed patients, and parenteral nutrition patients would be beneficial, but not essential.

About Us
East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital and community health services to over 900,000 people across east Suffolk and north Essex. Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics, and in patients' own homes. With over 12,000 staff members, we are one of the largest NHS organisations in England. We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities, flexible working options, and access to a generous pension scheme. In addition, we have a comprehensive Staff Health and Wellbeing programme that offers various services to support our staff's physical and mental wellbeing. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge, then we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Educational Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or postgraduate diploma in dietetics from a recognised university. They must also have registration with the Health Professions Council and membership of the British Dietetic Association. Experience of student training within a speciality area is highly desirable. We expect the successful candidate to have a strong foundation in clinical dietetics, including knowledge of BDA professional standards and issues related to enteral and parenteral nutrition. Intermediate IT skills, including keyboard skills and proficiency in PowerPoint, are necessary for this role.

Salary
The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. We are committed to investing in our staff's career development and offering a competitive benefits package, including a generous pension scheme and opportunities for continuing professional development.
