Primary SENCo Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Primary SENCo to join our dynamic two-form entry school in Tower Hamlets, London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop strategies to support the learning and development of children with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Develop and oversee personalized support plans, ensuring they are tailored to each child's unique strengths and challenges.
  • Liaise with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and offering guidance on how they can support their child's learning at home.
  • Provide ongoing training and support for staff to enhance their understanding of special educational needs, fostering a culture of inclusivity within the school community.
  • Collaborate with curriculum coordinators to ensure our curriculum is accessible and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Regularly assess the impact of SEN provision, collecting and analysing data to make informed decisions and continuously improve support services.
