About the Role
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, a leading healthcare provider, seeks an experienced Senior Trauma Occupational Therapist to join its Major Trauma Centre team. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex injuries.
Job Responsibilities
- To provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients in trauma and orthopaedics, vascular surgery, and general surgery units.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans for patients with varied conditions, including trauma, vascular, amputees, cancer, and palliative surgical patients.
- Lead and support junior staff, ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care and promoting professional development.
- Collaborate with therapists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and rehabilitation journeys.
- Develop, monitor, evaluate, and audit occupational therapy services, adhering to professional standards and best practices.
- Contribute to education, training, and development programs within the clinical specialty and profession, enhancing expertise and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
- Adequate English language proficiency to fulfill job requirements.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and post-qualification experience.
- Postgraduate training or relevant certifications in trauma, orthopaedics, or related areas are desirable.
