Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist in Trauma and Orthopaedics

The Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist in Trauma and Orthopaedics will provide clinical leadership to the Trauma and Orthopaedics Occupational Therapy service, managing a team of 8 staff members between Band 3 and Band 7 levels. The role requires highly specialist knowledge in trauma and orthopaedics, with a focus on providing a quality service that is evidence-based, effective, and efficient.
Main Duties- Organize and manage the specialist provision of acute services and rehabilitation to patients admitted within trauma and orthopaedics.
- Work at an advanced clinical level within trauma and orthopaedics, particularly in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex patients.
- Manage a clinical caseload to a high standard, including assessment, interventions, and discharge planning.
- Supervise, train, and provide day-to-day management to occupational therapists and assistants working within trauma and orthopaedic services.
- Establish robust communication networks with patients, carers, multidisciplinary members, and other agencies.
- Maintain a high standard in relation to communication to ensure a quality service for patients.
- Experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Band 7 and above.
- Experience and knowledge of leading and managing a team.
- Experience and skills of developing staff and leading with CPD.
- Experience and knowledge of service development.
