About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate leader to join our team as Deputy Headteacher with SENCO responsibility at Stannard School, a Polaris community school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the SEND provision, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting a culture of inclusion.
  • Develop and implement high-quality teaching and learning strategies, with a focus on differentiated instruction for students with SEND.
  • Utilize expertise to promote a therapeutic approach to behavior and emotional well-being, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students with complex needs.
  • Manage and support staff teams, promoting a culture of cooperation, flexibility, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with other leaders within the Polaris community to share best practices and ensure alignment with our ethos.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEND.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and complex needs such as Autism, ADHD, and FASD.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams with a compassionate, therapeutic approach.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work inclusively with staff, students, and families.
  • Proactive, adaptable attitude, able to set up new systems and processes aligned with the school's values and ethos.
