About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Platform Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and develop functional engineering solutions that meet complex cross-functional interactions and requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers to develop equipment and component specifications that meet demanding product needs.
  • Work directly with customers to develop requirements and acceptance criteria based on operational scenarios, use cases, and design considerations.
  • Take lead in performing and reviewing engineering calculations and analysis to make design decisions and demonstrate system performance.
  • Develop design evidence packages to justify safe, effective designs and generate customer confidence.
  • Coordinate and manage stakeholder relationships to solve complex engineering problems and make responsible decisions.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer within a recognized engineering institute.
  • Background in Fluid Systems Design.
  • Design documentation skills with ability to present to customers and wider groups.
  • Solving complex engineering calculations.

About Our Team:

The Mechanical Engineering team is responsible for designing and developing Mechanical Platform Systems for nuclear submarines. You will be heavily involved in the SSN AUKUS project and other future submarine programs.
