Job Title: Claims Handler - Property and Casualty Expert

Competitive Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

We are recruiting an experienced Claims Handler - Property and Casualty Expert to join our Claims Specialty Team in Leeds. As a key contributor to our claims handling process, you will work closely with our broking department and clients to deliver exceptional claims services.

This role requires strong claims handling experience across various commercial claims types, including Property, Liability, Marine, and Business Interruption. Your expertise will enable you to ensure professional and efficient claims management from inception to completion.

We are seeking a customer-centric individual with excellent communication skills, who can build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. You will be responsible for managing claims, maintaining accurate records, and providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee claims across multiple products, ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
  2. Maintain detailed records of claims, using efficient systems to track progress and chase updates as necessary.
  3. Prepare and distribute critical claims information and reports to the broking department and clients as required.
  4. Handle complex claims in line with established group procedures, escalating issues as necessary.
  5. Acknowledge new claims to both clients and insurers, keeping clients informed and striving for optimal outcomes.
  6. Develop and maintain accurate claims data, generating reports as needed to support decision-making.
  7. Engage with clients to discuss claims progress and provide expert guidance.
  8. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in Property, Liability, Marine, and Business Interruption insurance claims handling.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply TCF and KYC methodologies in customer-facing roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Acturis system knowledge (desirable but not essential), proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
