Petersham Nurseries Richmond Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at Petersham Nurseries Richmond. As a vital part of our Kitchen team, you will be responsible for running the day-to-day operation of the Tea House Cakes and assisting with the Restaurant Pastry and Afternoon Tea sections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new seasonal cakes that reflect Petersham Nurseries brand, style, and ethos.
  • Ensure correct recipes are followed, and quality and presentation standards are met.
  • Conduct regular spot checks against presentation, taste, and seasoning.
  • Maintain and update the recipe books with images for the station.
Section Management
  • Responsible for the operation and organisation of the baking section of the kitchen.
  • Planning and managing the workload throughout the day, week, and month.
  • Forecast and set daily, weekly, and monthly production levels.
  • Planning, forecasting, and recording of stock and orders.
Food Safety and Hygiene
  • Ensure that all administration for the section is completed according to deadlines.
  • Enforce the high standard of hygiene and sanitation in all food-related outlets.
  • Implement recommendations from Food Safety Audits.
Other Responsibilities
  • Involvement in ad hoc project work.
  • Any other reasonable request required by the Head Chef.

This is a physical role which will involve heavy lifting, dealing with machinery, and standing for long periods of time. You will also be required to adhere to the company's EHO and Health and Safety policy.
