Accounting Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Support Specialist to join our team at Wisei Chartered Certified Accountants. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our accountants and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other financial statements on a regular basis.
- Process invoices, receipts, and payments efficiently using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Prepare VAT returns and manage submissions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in payroll preparation and processing.
- Support with management accounts and end-of-year financial reports.
- Liaise with clients and HMRC on financial matters as required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualifications (AAT or equivalent) are advantageous.
