Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified teacher with experience in teaching students with SEN, particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Transition Teaching Specialist, you will play a critical role in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

Your primary responsibility will be to adapt your teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and provide support to students with emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will also assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and other professionals to ensure their holistic development.

In this rewarding role, you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and academic achievement. Your ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies will be essential in supporting students' transition to independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for students with SEN
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and support students with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Aess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and other professionals
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and academic achievement
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support students' holistic development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in teaching students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs
  • Understanding of SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching students with SEN
  • Experience working in a similar role within a school setting
