Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit based in Carshalton, London Borough of Sutton.

Job Description

This role involves teaching KS3 students in small groups with a focus on providing tailored and impactful education. The ideal candidate will have excellent behaviour management skills and an ability to engage reluctant learners in English.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  2. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment in small group settings.
  3. Develop strong relationships with pupils to encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
  4. Collaborate with a dedicated team to support the personal and academic development of students.
  5. Take on planning, preparation, and assessment duties associated with the role.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching KS3 or primary-aged students (experience in a PRU or similar setting is desirable).
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to adapt to diverse learner needs.
  • A valid DBS on the update service and the right to work in the UK.
  • Proven teaching experience (formal qualifications are not required, but experience is essential).

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
