About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled nurse to join our specialist palliative care team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert care and support to patients and their families, and will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide specialist advice and education to patients, relatives, carers and other Health Care Professionals requiring palliative care within the hospital.
  • To autonomously manage a nurse-led caseload according to agreed protocols, using advanced skills in assessing and treating a variety of conditions, including non-malignant and malignant life-limiting conditions.
  • To work alongside other clinical colleagues in oncology, palliative care, ED, acute medicine, radiology and pathology to ensure quality and care to the patient is maximised.

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse
  • Non-Medical Prescribing (or willing to undertake)
  • Evidence of relevant and recent continuing professional development
  • Teaching and assessing qualification
