Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Computational Chemistry Team Leader to join our drug discovery company in the South East.
About the Role
As a Computational Chemistry Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the computational chemistry department to provide solutions to complex drug discovery problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver drug discovery projects using a suite of software tools.
- Work collaboratively with the Medicinal Chemistry and Biology groups to progress multiple projects.
- Lead the strategic direction of computational chemistry in the company.
- Drive and implement new computational chemistry tools.
- Identify new business opportunities and write proposals.
- Lead and train Computational Chemists.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in Organic Chemistry or Computational Chemistry and be working as a Computational Chemist within drug discovery/drug design.
You will have previous experience in structure-based and ligand-based drug design, along with an in-depth knowledge of drug discovery processes.
Furthermore, you will have experience in a variety of computational tools and techniques including virtual screening, structure-activity relationships, and chemoinformatics.
