We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Ophthalmology Fellow to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This one-year fellowship provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in vitreoretinal surgery and contribute to the development of our services.

The role involves working closely with other clinicians to investigate and treat patients with retinal diseases and allied disorders. You will be responsible for conducting outpatient clinics, participating in theatre lists and on-call commitments, and contributing to audit and clinical governance programs.

The ideal candidate would be a CCT holder or equivalent who wishes to specialize in the surgical treatment of retinal diseases. The post is not a Deanery TSC and requires some general ophthalmology provisions and on-call commitments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Conducting outpatient clinics for patients with retinal diseases and allied disorders.
  2. Participating in theatre lists and on-call commitments.
  3. Contributing to audit and clinical governance programs.
  4. Developing and delivering aspects of our services depending on interests and experience.
Required Qualifications and Experience

The required qualifications and experience for this role include:

  • MRCOphth or equivalent qualification.
  • Wide experience in all aspects of ophthalmology, culminating in award of CCT or equivalent.
  • Specialist training in vitreoretina.
