Glaucoma Specialist Consultant

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of glaucoma patients.
- Conduct clinical research and publish articles in reputable journals.
- Participate in the supervision of junior staff, including medical students and registrars.
- Contribute to the development of our ophthalmology services, including the formulation and implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Work closely with other consultants to ensure seamless 24-hour, 7-day coverage for the unit.
Requirements: Applicants must hold a registerable medical qualification (e.g., MBBS, MD), have completed advanced subspecialty training in Glaucoma, and possess full registration with the GMC. Name on the GMC Ophthalmology Specialist Register and experience in day-to-day organisation of Ophthalmology services in a busy Teaching Hospital are also essential. Leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams and thorough understanding of principles of medical audit are also required. A commitment to teaching and training, as well as experience in clinical research, are desirable.
Salary: £120,000 - £150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
