Job Title: Residential Worker

Join Essex County Council as a Residential Worker and make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Residential Worker. As a Residential Worker, you will provide nurturing therapeutic care to children who have experienced trauma, supporting and caring for them as a parent would.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team around the child, supporting them to develop the skills and resilience to return to their families or onto longer-term care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nurturing therapeutic care to children who have experienced trauma
  • Support and care for children as a parent would
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team around the child
  • Support children to develop skills and resilience
  • Manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in a relevant field (or willingness to complete within 2 years)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude
  • The ability to manage challenges with a calm and patient demeanour

You will work 37 hours over a mixture of early and late shifts, with every other weekend off.
