Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate educator to fill a challenging role as a Multidisciplinary Special Education Professional. This position involves working with students who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, providing tailored support to meet their unique needs.

About the Role

This is a temporary position, with the possibility of converting to a permanent role at a later date. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, along with experience in working with students with PMLD or SLD.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students with PMLD.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide a comprehensive approach to education and care.
  • Use alternative communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, and assistive technology to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Promote independence, self-esteem, and social interaction in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, including EHCP reviews.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in working with students with PMLD or SLD.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching approaches and alternative communication strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Salary and Benefits
