Livestock Health Specialist

Cogent Breeding Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Veterinarian to join our UK Vet team as a Deputy Center Veterinarian.
The role will involve providing veterinary advice and support to our dedicated livestock team, laboratory, and distribution teams.
You will be based out of Beachin Stud in the Cheshire countryside and work closely with our experienced Production Management Team.
As part of our global genetic breeding programs, you will monitor and advise on herd health and biosecurity plans for partner farms.
This is a unique opportunity to utilize your specialist bovine health and biosecurity knowledge in a team-based role with excellent in-house support.
We offer comprehensive training and ongoing support for this role, which would suit a practicing Livestock or Mixed Practice Vet looking for a change in career direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputy center vet supervising responsibilities for Cogent Breeding licensed sites
- Provide onsite clinical work, fertility exams, biosecurity advice, and health test protocols and interpretation
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues and/or customers in matters of cow health and fertility
Essential Skills:
- Veterinary Surgeon Degree and Registered MRCVS
- Experience of livestock practice
- Ability to work with autonomy to make decisions
- Excellent prioritization skills
Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum.
