Teacher Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN teacher assistant to join our team in a primary school located in Northfield/Longbridge, Birmingham. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the teacher in providing an outstanding education to individual children with special educational needs (SEN) and behavior issues.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Support the teacher in developing and implementing personalized learning plans for students with SEN.
  2. Work closely with the teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  3. Assist in lesson planning, delivery, and assessment, ensuring alignment with national curriculum standards.
  4. Design and implement specialized interventions to support children with autism and other SEN.
  5. Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
Requirements:
  1. Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism.
  2. Ability to use various specialist strategies and resources to support children with SEN.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals.
  4. Capacity to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.

The estimated annual salary for this role is £26,000 - £31,000, depending on experience.
