Power Generation Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a Power Generation Engineer to join our team at Clarke Energy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing commissioning services for new or refurbished engines, generators, and balance of plant equipment in the UK regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out engine, generator, balance of plant, and new technology commissioning.
  • Provide technical support to the UK regions and Area Service Managers, undertaking mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to minimize engine downtime.
  • Offer mobile and flexible field service support where and when required.
  • Ensure commissioning and field service support work is completed to the required standards of quality.
  • Document service visits using field service/commissioning management software and complete commissioning documentation.
  • Train inexperienced engineers and customers on new and recommissioned plant as needed.
  • Liaise with internal departments to gather and share relevant information for problem-solving and effective decision-making.
  • Communicate with customers, Area Service Managers, and other stakeholders ensuring timely and appropriate updates.

Requirements:

  • High level of technical skill with extensive service engineering or commissioning experience for gas engines, generators, and balance of plant equipment.
  • Excellent power generation service/commissioning knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate well with colleagues, customers, and contractors.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home.
  • Effective time management and workload control.
  • Consistently professional and reliable.
  • Positive approach to work and ability to use own initiative.
