Reporting to the Associate Sales Director, UK & the Commonwealth, this position will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies and setting sales priorities.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage business relationships with key UK distributors and retailers, working closely with our New York office and UK-based Associate Sales Director and Marketing Manager to provide relevant sales and market information.
- Present new titles to our distributors' sales teams on a regular basis via MS Teams and in person.
- Collaborate with Penguin Random House (Client) Publisher Services and a range of client publishers to maximize title performance in the UK trade.
- Work with our distributors to secure retail promotions.
- Seek out and initiate plans to secure new sales opportunities.
- Work with the UK-based Marketing and Publicity Manager to ensure books are available to support publicity and marketing outreach as well as author events.
- Report weekly to the Associate Sales Director on sales performance and goals.
- Minimum of 3 years of book publishing sales experience required.
- Knowledge of non-trade/special markets, evolving trends, and retail merchandising are preferred.
- Ability to travel on average 2-3 days per month to the London area by train and to travel via plane once per year to New York City.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
