Job Title: Registered Manager Childrens Home

About the Role:

Affinity Care Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a Children's Home in the UK. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care is provided to the children in our home, while also managing the day-to-day operations and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Children's Home, including managing staff, finances, and resources.
  • Ensure the home is compliant with all relevant regulations and legislation, including Ofsted standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the children, their families, and external agencies.
  • Create and implement care plans for each child, ensuring their individual needs and goals are met.
  • Lead and support a team of care staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff, providing feedback and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including financial and safeguarding records.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of staff, ensuring a high-quality team is in place.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Act as a role model for staff, promoting a positive and inclusive culture within the home.
  • Keep up-to-date with best practices and developments in the field of childcare and implement them within the home.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a managerial role within a Children's Home.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, including Ofsted standards.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team, with strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and external agencies.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience in budget management and financial planning.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection issues.
  • Passion for providing high-quality care to children and young people.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
