About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor to join our team at St Andrew's Healthcare. As an Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor, you will work with our OT team on our Psychiatric Intensive Care units (PICU) and have the opportunity to work with other patient groups.

Under the support and guidance of a registered Occupational Therapist, you will use technical and creative skills to provide patient centred programmes of therapeutic activities, to enable an individual to achieve their goals. You will have the opportunity to undertake training to improve your knowledge and skills to enable you to develop in this OT TI role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver patient centred programmes of therapeutic activities
  • Work with the OT team to provide support and guidance to patients
  • Use technical and creative skills to enable patients to achieve their goals
  • Undertake training to improve knowledge and skills

Requirements

  • Understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy
  • Good team working skills, sound communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to build a rapport with a challenging patient group
  • Organisational skills, ability to take initiative and complete delegated tasks
  • Ability to lead therapeutic activity groups under supervision
