Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team at the Education Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of a catering service, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute skilled cooking activities, including menu preparation, portion control, and special dietary meals.
  • Organize and supervise food service, including transportation of meals and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the service and increase meal uptake.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and food safety standards.
  • Supervise and direct other employees, including allocating duties and work rotas.
  • Participate in the implementation of policies relating to staff issues, including attendance, discipline, and grievances.
  • Provide induction and ongoing staff training.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in catering management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and food safety standards.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
