Job SummaryThis role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and are eager to develop their skills in therapeutic radiography. As a Degree Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced team to provide radiotherapy treatments to patients with cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the daily workload of the radiotherapy department, liaising with portering services, administration staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate the coordination of patient appointments.
- Under the supervision of a registered practitioner, operate radiotherapy equipment in both treatment areas and the pre-treatment area.
- Maintain a high professional standard of patient care through the interpretation of treatment plans and the accurate delivery of treatment techniques using analytical, judgment, communication, and organizational skills to a high standard while under supervision.
As a Degree Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to complete a BSc (Hons) degree in Therapeutic Radiography, approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will also receive comprehensive training and support to develop your skills and knowledge in therapeutic radiography.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- 2 GCSE passes at grade C or grade 4 and above, including Mathematics, English language or literature, or equivalent literacy and numeracy qualifications.
- 120 UCAS points from 3 A levels, or equivalent from national BTEC qualifications, extended diploma in applied science, health science, or health studies, or successful completion of an Access to HE Diploma in health studies, health science, nursing, or another science-based course.
- Experience in a caring environment and excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
