About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Practitioner in Breast Imaging to join our team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will possess a Foundation Degree in Breast Imaging (FdSc) or equivalent training, and have a strong understanding of the role of the assistant practitioner in breast imaging.

The post holder will be responsible for providing a high-quality mammography service as part of the NHSBSP and Symptomatic Service under the supervision of a qualified Mammographer. They will work within a prescribed protocol as laid down by departmental protocol and Scope of Practice, and provide assistance to Radiologists, Radiographers, and other staff in the multi-disciplinary breast imaging team.

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to service provision, with the ability to work cross-site and adapt to last-minute rota changes. They will be required to travel to all screening locations as directed, and have the ability to collect, record, and organise information systematically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality mammography service as part of the NHSBSP and Symptomatic Service
  • Work within a prescribed protocol as laid down by departmental protocol and Scope of Practice
  • Provide assistance to Radiologists, Radiographers, and other staff in the multi-disciplinary breast imaging team
  • Collect, record, and organise information systematically

Requirements

  • Foundation Degree in Breast Imaging (FdSc) or equivalent training
  • Experience of working within a breast screening unit
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills
