We are seeking a Deputy Lead Cancer Nurse to join our team at Barts Health, one of the largest NHS trusts in the country. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Corporate Nursing Team across all four hospitals in the BH Group.
Job DescriptionThis role will support the Director of Cancer and Palliative Care Nursing while leading on the specialist palliative care nursing agenda. You will be responsible for ensuring that practice remains current and leading any changes in palliative and end-of-life care.
You will work closely with the four hospital teams to develop and implement strategies to improve patient care. Your expertise in cancer and palliative care will be invaluable in shaping our approach to patient-centered care.
We require a registered nurse with a minimum of 5 years' operational management experience in an acute trust or hospice at band 7 or above. You must also have experience in cancer/palliative care within an acute Trust and a strong understanding of quality improvement principles.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Director of Cancer and Palliative Care Nursing

- Work closely with hospital teams to deliver high-quality patient care
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years' operational management experience in an acute trust or hospice at band 7 or above
- Experience in cancer/palliative care within an acute Trust
- Strong understanding of quality improvement principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for professional development.
