About the Role

We are looking for dedicated professionals to join our team as Senior Healthcare Support Workers at Ashdown, a 6-bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit based in Salisbury. This unit provides intensive nursing support and a safe environment for individuals with high mental health needs.

As a Healthcare Recovery Specialist, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to empower service users in their recovery and enable them to move through the care pathway. While experience in healthcare is desirable, it is not essential. You will receive training to complete the NHS Care Certificate and a Level 3 Healthcare apprenticeship.

The ward operates on a 24/7 shift basis, requiring flexibility, including evenings, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays. You will be eligible for unsocial enhancements in addition to basic pay.

Main Duties
  1. To deliver high-quality care and recovery interventions for service users within designated clinical areas.
  2. Supporting individuals with fluids, nutrition, physical wellbeing, and personal care.
  3. Assisting service users with financial or accommodation issues.
  4. Escorting or accompanying service users for planned periods of leave on hospital grounds and in the community.
  5. Maintaining a clean, well-organized, safe, and therapeutic environment.
  6. Delivering psychosocially-informed one-to-one and group interventions.
  7. Participating in ongoing care planning, CPA, and risk assessment processes.
  8. Maintaining knowledge of the Mental Health Act (1983) and Mental Capacity Act (2005).

Estimated salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum.
