About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chef Manager to join our team at Anchor Hanover. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality catering service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Chef Manager and manage all aspects of catering operations, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Supervise catering assistants on shift, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service standards.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
  • Minimise waste and ensure efficient use of equipment, promoting sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Cater Craft or similar award.
  • Health and safety legislation knowledge, including COSHH and food safety standards.
  • Proven chef and people management experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality services.
  • Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older adults.
  • Safe use of kitchen equipment, including knives.
Desirable Skills
  • Able to negotiate, influence, and prioritise activities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and innovative, with the ability to work in a pressured environment and produce high-quality meals based on implemented menus.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, able to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
