We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at the Solihull Retirement Village in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to support our commitment to delivering exceptional care and lifestyle opportunities for older people.

Job Summary:

The Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and leading a varied, exciting, and dynamic activity plan for residents. This will involve producing and distributing activity programs, encouraging residents to lead their own interest groups/activity sessions, and assisting the Lifestyle Manager with planning, organisation, and budgeting of events.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading on the recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers both within and outside of the Village in line with the Volunteering strategy and policy. This will involve raising the profile of volunteering within the Village to staff, residents, and visitors, and working with the Activities Coordinator at the Village to ensure appropriate numbers of Volunteers are available to assist with events and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and lead a varied, exciting, and dynamic activity plan for residents
  • Produce and distribute activity programs
  • Encourage residents to lead their own interest groups/activity sessions
  • Assist the Lifestyle Manager with planning, organisation, and budgeting of events
  • Lead on the recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers
  • Raise the profile of volunteering within the Village
  • Work with the Activities Coordinator to ensure appropriate numbers of Volunteers are available
  • Develop partnerships with external organisations to build the Villages volunteer base

Requirements:

  • Excellent organisational skills and good understanding of financial awareness
  • Ability to lead the Activities Program and provide the right kind of support and encouragement for residents
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build rapport with volunteers and residents
  • Ability to be an effective influencer and engaging
  • Good networking skills
  • Proactive and enthusiastic with initiative

Estimated salary: £24,557.94 per annum (pro rata of FTE), £12.56 per hour
