Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Bachy Soletanche. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for optimizing profit and mitigating risk for the company by identifying and leveraging commercial opportunities within contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Review and negotiate contract conditions and warranties to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Commercial Advisory: Advise operations staff on commercial and contractual issues to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Commercial Correspondence: Prepare commercial and contractual correspondence to communicate with stakeholders and ensure effective communication.
  • Valuations and Claims: Prepare internal and external valuations and identify and prepare claims to ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Sub-Contract Administration: Negotiate and administer Sub-Contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Financial Management: Review costs against budget and manage accrual to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Skills and Experience: Knowledge of construction contracts and law, commercial acumen, effective communication and negotiation skills, understanding of design, tendering, and construction processes, analytical thinking and numeracy skills, and appreciation of financial reporting and IT skills.
