Supply Officer Assistant Job Description

Adecco is seeking a skilled Supply Officer Assistant to join North Wales Police. This role is based at the HQ in Colwyn Bay and involves working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, at a rate of £14.40 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and administer the Stores IT systems to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Support the Supplies Manager in general clerical duties, including raising purchase orders, progressing orders, and sourcing equipment/services.
  • Perform stock checks, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Supply and fit uniform to all staff, ensuring a professional appearance.
  • Progress and chase purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Verify invoices against orders and clear payments upon proof of delivery, inputting transaction details into the computerized system.
  • Monitor stock levels, adjusting them as necessary to maintain optimal inventory.
  • Arrange destruction or disposal of returned clothing items or stock written off by the Supplies Manager or Shared Service Centre Manager.
  • Prepare and input data into the computer, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Receive customers, visitors, drivers, and telephone enquiries, providing excellent customer service.
  • Undertake general stores maintenance, including stock relocation, stock checking procedures, and ensuring a safe and tidy working area.
  • Advise customers on uniform maintenance and provide guidance on fitting and alteration procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar environment, such as stores or supplies.
  • Basic IT skills, including keyboard proficiency and knowledge of processing orders and invoices.
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment, with some tasks requiring heavy lifting.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under own supervision and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, managers, and other personnel.
