Job Title: Transport Operations Manager
Job Summary:
Ideal Personnel & Recruitment Solutions Limited is seeking a highly skilled Transport Operations Manager to join their established management team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading and coaching transport teammates to ensure company and customer expectations are met.
Main Responsibilities:
- People Leadership: Recruiting, inducting, coaching, and developing the transport team to succeed and grow.
- Drive Operational Service: Ensuring the day-to-day transport function operates in line with service level agreements with the support of the General Manager.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Challenging the norm, fostering a culture of looking forward to improve the operation.
- Cross Functional Working: Actively building relationships across the Operation Centre and wider business, ensuring support is available and performance isn't hindered or negatively impacted.
- Legalities and Compliance: Ensuring that all fleet vehicles and teammates are compliant with all legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance, including Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive, with the support of the Regional Transport Manager.
Requirements:
- CPC (National or International) and Full UK Driving Licence:
- Demonstrable People Management and Leadership Experience:
- Customer Service Focused (Both Internal and External Customers):
- A Positive, Can-Do Attitude:
- Ability to Motivate and Engage Teammates to Succeed:
- Ability to Multi-Task within a Fast-Paced Environment and Work Well Under Pressure:
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills:
- Must be Computer Literate and Familiar with Computerised Transport Management Systems:
- A Proactive and Flexible Approach - Can Use Initiative and Work on Your Own:
- Able to Develop a Team and Introduce New Working Practices:
