Transport Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Manager to join our leadership team at Halo Resourcing Ltd. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading and coaching our transport team to meet and exceed both company and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • People Leadership: Recruit, induct, coach, and develop the transport team, fostering growth and success.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the transport function operates in line with service level agreements, supported by the General Manager.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of innovation, continuously seeking ways to enhance operations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships across the Operation Centre and broader business to ensure seamless support and performance.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure fleet vehicles and staff comply with all legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements, including Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive, with support from the Regional Transport Manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • CPC (National or International) and a full UK Driving Licence
  • Proven people management and leadership experience
  • Strong customer service focus (both internal and external)
  • Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to motivate and engage your team
  • Excellent multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in computerised transport management systems
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work
  • Ability to introduce and develop new working practices within the team
