About the Role

The Adoption Service is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Team Manager to lead our Post Order Support team. As a trauma-informed leader, you will have a deep understanding of the therapeutic needs of children and families, and a passion for developing the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund.

You will be responsible for managing a highly skilled team of professionals who provide support to children and young people on an Adoption, Special Guardianship, or Child Arrangement Order. You will also have the privilege of managing the Birth Records Counselling service, sharing birth information with adult adoptees.

We are looking for a candidate with a relevant degree or equivalent, a professional social work qualification, and substantial post-qualifying experience of working with children and families. You must also have experience of statutory childcare work, including safeguarding, child protection, and court processes, as well as experience of managing staff.

You will be able to analyse information to reach sound decisions, often under pressure, and take responsibility for their outcome and regular reporting to the Service Manager. You must also have good organisational skills, prioritisation, and the ability to manage heavy workloads.
