About the Role

The Adoption Service is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Team Manager to lead our Post Order Support team. As a trauma-informed leader, you will be responsible for developing the therapeutic offer and knowledge of the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund.

You will have the opportunity to work with a highly skilled and long-standing team of professionals supporting children and young people on an Adoption, Special Guardianship or Child Arrangement Order. Additionally, you will manage the Birth Records Counselling service, sharing birth information before adoption, to adult adoptees.

This role requires a DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity. We are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and we expect our applicants to share this commitment.

About You
  • Relevant degree or equivalent
  • Professional Social Work Qualification
  • Substantial post-qualifying experience of working with children and families
  • Experience of statutory childcare work, including safeguarding, child protection, and court processes
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Ability to analyse information to reach sound decisions, often under pressure, and to take responsibility for their outcome and regular reporting to the Service Manager
  • Good organisational skills, prioritisation, and managing heavy workloads
