Correctional Healthcare Nurse

Become a vital member of our healthcare team as a Correctional Healthcare Nurse
- Eligible new hires may receive a $7,500 Sign-On Bonus or up to $10,000 in Student Loan Repayment options
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care within adult correctional facilities by employing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with established standards
- Ensure high standards of care through a variety of services, including round-the-clock nursing support, telehealth consultations, chronic care management, triage for sick calls, medication distribution, patient education, and emergency response
- Maintain accurate documentation of all relevant patient information while upholding confidentiality and collaborating with other departments as necessary
- Registered Nurses are expected to effectively delegate tasks and manage their workload across various shifts and locations as required
- Availability to provide coverage as needed to fulfill institutional demands is essential
- Commit to delivering evidence-based nursing care and enhancing professional competence through ongoing education and certification, with a focus on correctional healthcare
- Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities or assignments may be required to address the clinical and administrative needs of the organization
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a valid, unrestricted RN license in Virginia (recent nursing graduates must have scheduled their NCLEX-RN Exam at the time of application)
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is mandatory upon hire

- Prior experience in a correctional environment is preferred
