Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team at Barratt Developments. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the finance function and providing strategic support to the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of the finance department, including the management of accounts, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Strategic Support: Provide strategic support to the Finance Director, including the development of financial plans, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Team Management: Line manage the Management Accountant and Accounts Assistant, providing coaching and guidance to ensure the team is working effectively.
  • Cash Management: Oversee the overall cash management of the business, including the management of cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Cost Control: Assist in managing the cost control of the division, including the active participation in the monthly valuation process and the management of provisions.
  • Financial Reporting: Review and prepare financial reports, including monthly management accounts and annual accounts.
  • Board Reporting: Provide monthly board statistics and prepare consol packs for audit review.
  • Quarterly Reporting: Manage the production of quarterly CSQ reports.
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform ad-hoc duties as required, including deputising for the Finance Director as and when necessary.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualification: A professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience in a commercial accounting role.
  • Commercial Experience: Experience in collating budgets and monitoring against performance, including cost control.
  • Leadership Skills: Self-disciplined, with good time management skills and the ability to manage a number of priorities.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness and the ability to interpret data and assess impacts on the business.
  • Communication Skills: A good communicator able to contribute and challenge at all levels.
