Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team at Barratt Developments. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the finance function and providing strategic support to the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of the finance department, including the management of accounts, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Strategic Support: Provide strategic support to the Finance Director, including the development of financial plans, forecasts, and business cases.
  • Team Management: Line manage the Management Accountant and Accounts Assistant, providing coaching and guidance to ensure the team is working effectively.
  • Cash Management: Oversee the overall cash management of the business, including the management of cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
  • Cost Control: Assist in managing the cost control of the division, including the active participation in the monthly valuation process and the management of provisions.
  • Financial Reporting: Review and approve monthly management accounts and associated reconciliations, as well as provide monthly board statistics.
  • Audit and Compliance: Prepare the consol pack for audit review and review annual accounts and annual tax submissions.
  • Communication: Liaise with other members of the finance team, as well as with other departments and stakeholders, to ensure the efficient running of the department.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualification: A professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience in a commercial accounting role.
  • Experience: Experience in collating budgets and monitoring against performance, including cost control, and a strong understanding of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Skills: Strong commercial awareness, IT skills, and financial analysis skills, as well as the ability to interpret data and assess impacts on the business.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-disciplined, with good time management skills and the ability to manage a number of priorities, as well as being a strong motivator with a reputation for achievement and delivery.
