Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Production to lead our production arm, responsible for end-to-end production of global shoots, both still and moving image.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Oversee the 360 planning, scheduling, and execution of all photo shoots, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
    • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
    • Ensure all necessary permits, releases, and contracts are secured and compliant with legal requirements.
    • Execute multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Create and maintain all production documents, including call sheets, production books, and shoot schedules.
  • Leadership & Management
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the production team, including producers, production assistants, and freelancers.
    • Onboard and hire freelance assisting work for production.
    • Develop and implement production workflows, ensuring efficiency and consistency across all projects.
    • Collaborate with creative directors, photographers, and other key stakeholders to align production efforts with creative vision and business goals.
  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight
    • Develop and manage production budgets, ensuring all projects are financially viable and within agreed-upon constraints.
    • Negotiate client budgets and supplier rates.
    • Track expenses and manage reconciliations for financial reporting and invoicing.
    • Manage all estimates, POs, and invoices.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in the production process.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify potential risks in the production process and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
    • Ensure all production activities comply with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Client & Vendor Relations
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the production phase, addressing any concerns and ensuring client satisfaction.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors, including studios, equipment suppliers, and post-production services.
    • Source and manage freelance talent, such as stylists, makeup artists, and set designers, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Quality Control
    • Maintain the highest standards of quality in all aspects of production, from pre-production planning to final delivery.
    • Review and approve all production-related deliverables, ensuring they meet creative and technical specifications.
    • Conduct post-mortem reviews after each project to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in production management within the creative industry, with a proven track record of leading successful projects.
  • Must have experience in production with both fashion and commercial clients.
  • Willingness to travel for production when needed.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong negotiation and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of production vendors and industry personnel.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of the photographic production process, including pre-production, on-set protocols, and post-production.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Personal Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused.
